Future
Wrights Vineyard & WInery was established in 2000 by Geoff Wright, in 2005 Nicola Wright joined the 'Wright Team.' We see it important to continue with our philosophy and develop and adopt ethical practices.
The future for Wrights Vineyard and Winery is definitely going to be exciting, challenging and fulfilling. We intend to continue producing wine, however at the same time develop a natural farm producing a wide range of products. The natural farm will adopt the approach of minimal human intervention to promote the co-existence of organisms and encourage nature's equilibrium.
At present you can visit our Winery and Vineyard by appointment. We enjoy meeting new people and showcasing our wines. Feel free to contact us next time you are in Gisborne.
There will be no use of artificial fertilisers, nasty fungicides, herbicides and insecticides.
At present Wrights Wines purchases grapes from organic and conventional growers in Gisborne. In 2008 we hope to harvest our first wines from our vineyard/orchard.
We intend to build a straw bale home, totally self sufficient producing its own power and producing our own wines on our vineyard/orchard.
We have a lot of work to do to get where we would ideally like to be. If we don't reach our dream, this is all right, as long as we live our lifes honestly and are true to ourselves, family, friends and not hurting anyone or anything in the process.
