WRIGHTS ENTITY METHODE TRADITIONNELLE 2002
The Entity range of sparkling wines are unique. They are crafted by Geoffrey Wright for your personal enjoyment. The wine is produced without animal by products and is certified vegan friendly through the New Zealand Vegetarian Society.
The Entity is great during those celebration times or moments of romanticism. The bubbles in the Entity provide another dimension for the wine. I find that this extra dimension emanates life and energy which enhance any occasion.
The Methode Traditionnelle is a complicated style with intense fruit aromas and rich autolysis flavours. The wine has been aged on yeast lees for fifteen months, allowing the yeast to break down and release a creamy texture to the wine. The flavour is reminiscent of passionfruit and apple.
The wine was harvested from Terry Hamlin's Riverway vineyard in Makaraka, Gisborne.
The label includes a painting by Daphne Erikson. The painting captures the legend of how Pourangahua and the Great Bird of Pourangahua flew the Great Bird from Hawaiki, bringing kumara tubers to Turanga/Gisborne.
