Our Cellar Door is located at 1093 Wharerata Road, Manutuke, Gisborne. Our cellar door will be open from October – April. We have a great selection of gourmet platters, fresh baking, coffee, wines, beers and non alcoholic drinks.
We make for a great visit for families, as we have several play areas for kids, inside and outside sitting areas and live music most Saturdays in the afternoon. The Wright family – the pioneers of this business will be serving you directly.
To contact us to make a reservation Cellar Door (06) 862 8746 or Office (06) 862 5335.
At our cellar door, we have inside and outside seating, with a good range of food made fresh from our commercial kitchen. We also have a petanque court for grown ups.
We have a selection of Maori greenstone carvings, flax weaving, paintings, lavender and creams, macademia chocolates, preserves and chutneys, olive oil and gift boxes available at our cellar door.
We have been producing wines since 2000, where Geoff came to Gisborne to study winemaking and viticulture. Geoff left Auckland with a dream one day he would own his own organic vineyard and winery. With our pioneering spirit and hard work, we are now living the dream.
Our vineyards have the oldest Gewurztraminer, Syrah and Chardonnay plantings in New Zealand, with over 30 year old vines from our Valley Vineyard and Coastal Vineyard. Some of the other grape varieties we grow are Pinot Gris, Viognier, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.
Gisbornes cellar doors get busy during the Summer, with at least four to six wineries to visit. Generally our Gisborne Wine Centre or Gisborne I Site will hold a list of the wineries which are open during summer. Our cellar door is able to cater for cruise ship tour groups, where we organise a unique cruise ship tour for passengers wanting to experience a vineyard and winery experience, refer to our New Events tab and select Vineyard Winery Cruise Ship Tours tab.
