We are excited to host Franzi Corker, at our Cellar Door on the 4th February Saturday evening from 6pm to 8.30pm. Tickets include a free glass of bubbles on arrival. Limited tickets available.
Franzi is a Wairoa musician, originally hailing from Weimar, Germany. She once played guitar in a bluegrass band with 2 banjos, has been working the busking circuit of Hawkes Bay, and most recently performed as the lead singer and guitarist in the Wairoa cover band Blurred Lines. Her style is influenced by traditional Americana, as well as more recent pop rock and folk. She has a special love for 90’s female singer-songwriters.

We are excited to invite you to our Cheese, Dessert & Wine Match Evening at the Vineyard on Saturday the 8th April from 7.00 pm to 8.30 pm.

You may find it tricky, but wine and dessert pairings can be incredible. During this evening, you will get to try 4 desserts and 4 wines that perfectly pair together. We will give you all the right tools to make great wine/dessert associations to take home with you!

This Easter Weekend is going to be an exciting one with both our Dessert & Wine Match Evening and Harvest Festival.

But we forgot to mention that on Sat 8 April, we are also going to do 4 x 30 minute sessions of Winemaker Tastings during the afternoon (12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm).
You’ll get to visit and do tastings in the winery with the winemaker, including tastings of the 2023 vintage wines in the making.
And it’s only $10 per person.

Come and enjoy our Harvest Festival Easter Sunday from 11am – 4.30pm at our Cellar Door at Wrights Vineyard and Winery, Gisborne.

It’s been a crazy summer in Gisborne, time to come together and have some fun. We have two bands playing from 12 – 4pm. With Franzi Corker and Muru playing live. We have the famous Ice Cream Bros from Gisborne, Gourmet Pizza’s and Build Your Own Gourmet Picnics available.

It is important to know, that any customers on Easter Sunday/Harvest Festival whom attend; are present at our Cellar Door for the purpose of dining. Under the Easter Sunday liquor legislation for us to trade, customers must be dining. The definition of dining is not just nibbling, but enjoying more substantial food.

We will have our organic wines available, plus selection of local beers and non alcoholic drinks.

Entrance is $10.

Tickets are non refundable, if the event is looking quite wet and unsafe we will post on facebook a change of date, otherwise we plan to go a head this Easter Sunday.

You can pre-order a Gourmet Picnic Box from us, which will be waiting for you to enjoy at our cellar door (see link below).
The Gourmet Picnic Box will include : selection of three cheeses, 1/2 loaf of ciabatta bread, two chutneys/spreads, 2 fruit juices, 1/2 roll of salami. The picnic box comes with chopping board, cheese knifes, picnic box. The total cost is $45.

The event is open to families and been Easter Sunday there could be a guest appearance from an Easter Bunny on the day…

To celebrate International Chardonnay Day, we are very excited to invite you to our private and very intimate Vertical Tasting Wrights Organic Chardonnays, held at our winery on Saturday 27 May, from 6.30 – 8.00pm.

On this exceptional evening, we will bring out seven of our very limited 5 star rated Wrights Organic Chardonnays, up to the 2013 vintage. All have been 5 star rated by Aotearoa New Zealand Organic Wine Awards, The Wine Orbit, Cameron Douglas… The tasting will be held on redwood tables at the very heart of our winery and commented by the owner and winemaker himself. Individual portions of a delicious crumbed Fish & Chips from Aberdeen Fish Shop will be served during the evening.
