Wrights Estate Chardonnay is a full bodied style. Lingering on the palate, with pear, lime and vanilla flavours. Appealing to lovers of both full oak and fruit driven styles.
This beautifully balanced wine has undergone partial malolactic fermentation and been aged in barrels for 6 months.
The grapes used for our Chardonnay were grown by us, using organic and biodynamic techniques. The grapes are fully certified organic through Asurequality from our Grand Cru appellation of Ormond Valley Vineyard. The chardonnay Mendoza clone of grapes are used in making this wine – only the best!
Gisborne is known as Chardonnay capital of New Zealand – and rightly so. Our soils are clay rich, which give lovely mineral characters in our wines, Our summer help ripen the grapes and with limited rain fall, we concentrate the flavours. Our Ormond Valley Vineyard is probably one of the hottest grape growing regions in Gisborne and cooler nights as being located in a valley, help retain lovely acidity and richness of flavours. Enjoy!
